Course 02 · Foundation

Mechanical systems

Rule-based setups written down before the session, so nothing is decided mid-trade.

← All courses

A setup you can describe but not write down is a feeling. This course turns the structural reading into conditions on paper: what has to be true, in what order, before a trade exists at all.

The point of writing them down is that they can then be broken visibly. A mechanical rule fails loudly; a discretionary one quietly rewrites itself after the fact.

What you can do after it

  • Write a setup as rules another trader could follow
  • Know before the open what you are waiting for
  • Pass on a session without feeling like you missed out

What’s covered

  • 01Turning a structural read into written conditions
  • 02The entry checklist, and what invalidates it
  • 03Session models for the New York open
  • 04What a valid setup looks like when it does not appear
  • 05Journaling a system so it can be reviewed
  • 06Adjusting rules without curve-fitting to last week

In the room

The checklist is on screen. When a condition fails, the trade is passed on, live.
